Inquiry goes to Liberty Science Center

On Tuesday, May 20, 2008 Team Inquiry went on a field trip to Liberty Science Center. We got to learn new things about science by actually trying out the hands on experiments. It was really cool to be in a charter bus , especially because none of us wanted to really ride in the yellow hummer.

One of my favorite parts of the center was the skyscraper exhibit. In it we saw lots of science like a wind tunnel and the beam walk.
My group went to check out the wind tunnel, and it was so cool. It showed how hurricanes occur. We stepped into this area where the wind was blowing really hard and models of buildings were falling. The small building stood still because they are stronger as a result of their height The tall buildings fell because their height made it hard to resist the strong winds. The purpose of the beam walk was to show people how it feels to actually be up on a building beam like construction workers. Being in small groups was also interesting because it was easier to keep up and stay together. I can actually say that I had a lot of fun at the Liberty Science Center.
