30 Rock(s)

By: Jesus S

I know you guys heard of one of the funniest show on TV right now. The show is 30 rock. This show is a great show for everyone who loves entertainment and laughter. Here are the top reasons you should watch 30 rock. First, it's humorous. Second, it won so many awards!! Just days ago 30 rock won a SAG award. Tina Fey won one and the cast won one also. But don't take the advice from me here are some critics that comment on 30 rock. Tom Gliatto from people weekly said "It's the best new sitcom of the fall". [16 Oct 2006, p.39]. Dorothy Rabinowitz from the Wall Street Journal said "The standard caution is relevant -- debut episodes tend to be highly polished. All the more reason to enjoy the hilarious scenes and fine ensemble cast here". And, Alan Sepinwall from Newark Star-Ledger said "Write what you know" is a cardinal rule of writing, and Fey certainly knows this world better than Sorkin -- even if "The Girlie Show" is lame, I believe it exists in a way I don't with "Studio 60" -- but the history of failed behind-the-scenes sitcoms and dramas is so long and ugly that she would have been better served using a different setting altogether". So when you get home turn on the TV and see the show just one watch and you will be hooked to it. Trust me. I wouldn't persuade you to see something that I don't like. And, Matthew Gilbert from Boston Globe agrees with me. He said "There's a lot to enjoy... But "30 Rock" is more sitcommy than most of the single-camera sitcoms on the air now, and it has none of the sharp bite of "The Larry Sanders Show." Glenn Garvin from Miami Herald sai "30 Rock... is pretty darn funny, a bitterly merry comic jihad against corporate stupidity and mendaciousness". if you want to see more quotes from people who enjoy 30 rock head on to http://www.metacritic.com/tv/shows/30rock

Why do people talk
Just keep your
mouth
Shut.

People talk too much
Can't we just
go
a day without
Talking.

Poetry is Hitting 339

It's Poetry Month at 339! Starting Monday, the kids of the school started to write poems for a whole month. According to an unnamed teacher, the kids of her class have changed tremendously in their work. They are writing deep, high-level poems. She said her kids used to write poems about video games but now they are writing with emotions. She says that they are writing professional poems. Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will be studying hip-hop songs, sonnets, odes, haikus, and more! They will publish their poems in journals, podcasts, videos, and Google Sites. We will be featuring Poets of the Week on the Hardline every week in February. Teachers will submit their students' best poems. Look out for rising poets of 339!

Twilight's Third Saga

I'm a sucker for a good vampire vs. werewolf novel and Stephenie Meyer makes monsters romantic again in the third book of the Twilight saga. The red colored ribbon snaked across the cover of Eclipse represents that Bella is still madly in love with beautiful vampire Edward Cullen, but it's making her friendship with Jacob Black (the one who was there to pick up the pieces when Edward removed himself from her life) more complicated. Jacob just happens to be a werewolf, and werewolves and vampires are mortal enemies. In addition to the "which boy will she pick" dilemma, there is an army of vampires coming after her and nobody knows who's behind it. The best parts of the book are a long storytelling session in which Billy Black tells the myth of the Third Wife. A scene in which the love triangle (Bella, Jacob & Edward) are forced to spend a night in a tent together reveals more tension between Edward and Jacob. Its really a great book and I recommend it to anyone who just wants to read an interesting book, but before you grab this one off the shelves I recommend that you read the first two books of the Twilight saga, Twilight and New Moon. =]

HAPPY NEW YEARS!
HAPPY NEW YEARS!
Everybody cheers
Screaming and prancing
Because it's a new year

"New Year, New me"
Most people say
Why must they be so
PHONY
Does it really take
a new year for someone to
CHANGE?
